THE GIN: A GIN OUT OF THE COURT Gin Malfy was born with the intent of the Vergnano family to create a product that differed from the others, outside the box, that stood out at first sight for its bright color and bottles with a particular design closed by an oak stopper. In this Gin, the peels of the best Sicilian blood oranges, after harvesting, are immersed in alcohol, pressed and then left to macerate together with the juniper berries for about 6 hours. It is a Gin that offers a very pleasant tasting, not only when mixed, but also smooth. It is striking to the eye due to its blood orange color. THE GIN: JAPANESE WINDS 'Etsu' in Japanese means 'pleasure' and we are talking about pleasure when we find ourselves in the presence of this gin, among the first Japanese distillates of this category to arrive in Italy. Handcrafted in Hokkaido, following an ancient Asian recipe which involves the use of various Japanese botanicals including berries, tea leaves and typical citrus fruits, this gin features Yuzu, a small Japanese citrus fruit with a particularly fragrant aroma and very persistent. Colorless and crystalline, the nose has a floral scent of jasmine and hints of hibiscus, with vegetal nuances and a persistent citrus note in the background. THE GIN: MEDITERRANEAN SEA Distilled in Spain by the Giro family, in the third generation, this very particular Gin is inspired by the Mediterranean sea and is characterized by five main botanicals: Italian basil, Greek thyme, Turkish rosemary, Spanish citrus fruits and olives from Catalonia . The intent is precisely to reproduce the authentic local Mediterranean taste and, to do this, the distillation process takes place in a 250-litre discontinuous copper still, created specifically for this type of processing. A new, different and totally natural Gin, which will take you back to the sea and the most beautiful memories, sip after sip. Transparent and clear, it opens the sense of smell to vegetal aromas of musk, tomato leaf and resins, pine needles and Mediterranean scrub, with hints of rosemary and baked black olives, together with orange peels. The taste is an explosion of juniper and coriander, then turning into the bitter vegetal of aromatic herbs, with clear references to rosemary and basil, rightly balanced by the citrus freshness, in a long finish that recalls cardamom and green olives. THE PRODUCER: GIN MARE A story that spans four generations of distillers, the last of which is represented by the brothers Marc and Manuel Girò, who in just 10 years revolutionized the world of gin by conceiving it with a completely Mediterranean face. Gin Mare is produced in the distillery of Vilanova I La Geltrú, an ancient fishing village located between the Costa Brava and the Costa Dorada, a few kilometers from Barcelona. Here there is a small deconsecrated church which, in place of the altar, has left room for a wonderful 250 liter Florentine still, created specifically for this process. Through a discontinuous distillation process, Gin Mare is created thanks to the maceration of a careful selection of botanicals, each of which remains in infusion for 24-48 hours in 200 liters of neutral spirit of cereals and water. Citrus fruits, on the other hand, are macerated for a year. There are five botanicals in particular that mark the Mediterranean profile of Gin Mare, each coming from a different country: basil from Italy, thyme from Turkey, rosemary from Greece, citrus fruits from Spain and the Arbequina olive, a typical cultivar of the Catalonia.

THE GIN: BOMBAY SAPPHIRE: THE ESSENCE OF JUNIPER Among the most aromatic gins ever, Bombay Sapphire has always been a fundamental element for mixing; distillate of great quality and prestige, in perfect London Dry style, it differs from all the other gins on the market as it undergoes three distillation cycles. By doing so, the ten botanicals that compose it have plenty of time to get to know each other and blend, giving all their properties and essential oils. The product resulting from this long process, Bombay Sapphire Gin, is endowed with a great balance that allows it to be drunk even straight, a generally unusual procedure for a Gin and not recommended by enthusiasts of the genre. Brilliant adamantine, the nose expresses clear hints of juniper and a mix of vegetal and aromatic herbs of laurel, sage and thyme, together with floral sensations of violet and wisteria. The gustatory impact is round and enveloping, full-bodied but sweet, consistent in the many aromatic references that characterize a long persistence of juniper and sweet spices. THE PRODUCER: BOMBAY SPIRITS Although the actual launch took place 'only' in 1987, the history of Bombay Sapphire Gin dates back to 1760, immediately after the repeal of the Corn Laws, when a very young Thomas Dakin, in his early twenties, decided to build his distillery in Warrington, in the north-west of England, a place at the center of the trade routes between Liverpool and London. Even today, Dakin's 1761 recipe is followed to the letter to produce Bombay Gin and, every year, the best botanicals from around the world are selected: juniper and orris from Tuscany, lemon peels and bitter almonds from Spain, seeds of coriander from Morocco, angelica root from Germany, liquorice from China, cassia bark from Indonesia, cubebe berries from Java and finally grains of paradise (seeds from flowers) from West Africa. The peculiarity of Bombay lies in the fact that the botanicals are steam infused in the Carterhead still and not immersed in neutral spirit, as is commonly used among London Dry: this step makes the distillate much more malleable for mixology as demonstrated by the countless recipes who see him as the undisputed protagonist!
